By accessing, browsing or using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (‘Terms’). If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use this Site. We reserve the right to revise these Terms at any time by updating this posting. You are encouraged to review these Terms frequently, since the use of this platform will constitute your acceptance of changes. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion and without notice to you, to revise the services available on this Site and we will not be liable to you or to any third party for doing so.

Donation Policy

If you have made an error in making your donation or change your mind, we will honor your request for a refund made within 14 days of your donation. To request a refund please forward your receipt to central@redcross.is.
Refunds are returned using the original method of payment. If you made your donation by credit card, your refund will be credited to that same credit card.

Terms of Use

You must at all times use the Website and its associated services in a responsible and legal manner. In particular, but not exclusively:

  • You must not contribute with offensive, obscene or racist content, including photographs, on to the Site or its associated services. We do not actively edit the Site but reserves the right to remove or edit any content posted on the Site or its associated services at its sole discretion and without notice, regardless of whether or not it is, in the opinion of any third party, offensive, obscene or racist. If you notice any such content, please email our Support Email.
  • If you create a fundraising page, it is your responsibility to ensure that the content you are uploading on your page, in particular, the photograph, is not copyright-protected. If it is, you must obtain the copyright owner's written consent to use it. We reserve the right to remove any pictures, photographs or copy from personal fundraising pages, at its sole discretion, and without notice if their copyright status is in any doubt. If you suspect a breach of copyright on the Site please email our Support Email.
  • Other than in relation to your own fundraising page, you may not remove or change anything on the website.

We reserve the right to delete any content without notice in the event of a breach of the above rules.

You are responsible for your own communications, including fundraising texts and comments. Users are not allowed to:

  • Using the Site for the obvious promotion of your product and services, unless agreed with the Organization.
  • Posting, communicating or transmitting any material that infringes on any intellectual property, publicity or privacy right of another person or entity.
  • Posting any information which is untrue, inaccurate or not your own.
  • Engaging in conduct that would constitute a criminal offense or give rise to civil liability or otherwise violate any law or regulation.
  • Misrepresenting your identity or affiliation with any other person or organization.
  • Using the Site to send junk email or 'spam' to people who do not wish to receive an email from you.
  • Using the Site to conduct, display or forward surveys, raffles, lotteries, contests, pyramid schemes or chain letters.
  • Interfering with, or disrupt, the service or services of networks connected to the service and introduce any computer virus (including any variant or similar malicious code or instructions) to our systems.
  • Using information obtained through the Site, or otherwise contact other users in the physical world without their permission using information obtained on or through the Site.

If you have a profile on the Site you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password. You agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account or password. You agree to notify us promptly in the event of any unauthorized use of your profile or other breaches of security.

We respect the users right to be forgotten, if you wish to be deleted from this Site and from the Organization's databases, please contact our Support Email. These conditions apply to all fundraisers and donations paid through the Site and its associated services that allow you to donate to and raise funds for the Organization.

This Privacy Statement

The personal data you provide through the Site are kept confidential. When you make a donation you have the option to remain anonymous meaning that your name will not appear on the donation wall. We will not disclose your information to any third parties without your consent. This privacy policy details the Organization's commitment to protecting the privacy of individuals who visit and uses the services it provides, who creates a profile on the Site for fundraising or who donates through the Site. The Site may contain links to other websites and the information practices, and the content of such other websites are governed by the privacy statements of such other websites, and cannot be related to this Site's privacy policy. We encourage you also to review the privacy policy of any such other websites.

If you know, or suspect, that your username or password has been stolen or used without your authorization you need to contact us immediately on our Support Email. Upon notification, we will take reasonable steps to mitigate any damage which may have been caused. You are responsible for the safety and security of your username and password. You should log out after each session you have the Site and you should not share this information.

The information we collect

We ask for and collect personal information about you, such as your name, address, phone number and email address. We do this in order for you to start a fundraising page or donate through the Site. And to send you transactional emails about your fundraising page, and your donation receipt when you donate. Because of legal obligations we are required to send you transactional emails, please note that you, because of this, cannot opt out from receiving the transactional emails.

Who has access to my credit card number?

We do not process any underlying payments facilitated by the Site. Payments are processed by our Payment Service Provider. Only the Payment Service Provider has access to your credit card number. Data handled by the Payment Service Provider is subject to that Payment Service Provider's Privacy Policy.

Who can access my personal information?

We share personal data with partners who assist us in performing core services (such as hosting, data storage, and security) related to the operations of the Site.

Are pages I create private?

In general, no. If you create a fundraising page on the Site it is not private. Pages created on the Site are indexed by search engines and accessible to the public. When you make a donation you can choose to stay anonymous, by not giving your name on the donation, in this case only the Organization will know your name. You can choose to use a web-alias, this way only friends and family will know the identity of your donation. We may use public fundraising pages and donations for marketing purposes, such as social sharing and newsletters.
